For over thirty years，the Hubble Space Telescope（望远镜）had helped scientists get a deeper understanding of outer space.Then in the year 2022，its successor， the James Webb Space Telescope，entered service.
Just like Hubble，the new telescope is named after a famous person.However，while Edwin Hubble was a widely﹣respected astronomer（天文学家），James E.Webb was neither a scientist nor an engineer.So why is he worth remembering？

ThaddÂa Rath and her team at the University of Vienna have created the man﹣made ivory called"Digory".It is made from synthetic resin（合成树脂） and calcium phosphate particles（磷酸钙颗粒）.First，they use a 3 D printer to make the shape.Then they color﹣match and stain（着色） it.Finally，they polish（抛光） it to make it look like real natural ivory.Although the chemical structure of Digory is completely different from that of the natural ivory，it looks so real that it is hard to tell the difference by eye.
Fritz Vollrath，a biologist from the UK，felt excited about the invention for the fact that Digory could save many elephants from risks.He said， "We hope that，by doing more research，Digory will soon be accepted and used worldwide.And I believe that technology like this will play an important role in wildlife protection."
