In the old days, people usually travelled by horse when they wanted to go a long way. A man named Ming lived in the country. One day, his mother said to him, "Your uncle is very ill and he needs this medicine. You must take it to him quickly. Your uncle lives in the town. It's a long way from our house. It will take you two days to get there on a horse."
Ming thought for a minute and said to himself, "One horse ...two days. I know what I can do." The he said to his mother "Don't worry, Mum. I'm clever. I think I can get there in one day." Ming ran to the market and bought two horses for his journey.
Many years ago, there were no tall buildings in our city. There were some small houses. Only a few people lived here. They were farmers and fishermen. The air was clean. Now there are lots of tall buildings. Toc many people live here. They do many different jobs. The traffic is busy and noisy.
My life has changed a lot in the last few years. My daily life is different and I used to like different things when I was a child. I didn't use to like tests. Now, I don't mind them. I didn't use to like English, now is my favorite subject. I used to like playing tennis. Now, I like swimming and playing ping-pong. I used to have curly hair, now I have straight hair.
I used to be short. Now I'm a little taller. I used to be really quiet, now I'm outgoing. I used to be afraid of speaking in front of a group. But I don't worry about speaking in front of a group. Maybe, I will change more!
Ruth Kaiser is a photographer from American. She not only smiles a lot, likes finding a" smiley face" in everything. She takes a pictures of those "smiley faces" and shows them on her website (址). Ruth's ideas to collect "smiley faces" started about a year ago. She was taking a picture of a "smiley faces" on the street. A passer-by (路人) asked her what she was doing. Ruth showed the picture to him. The picture made him very happy. And to Ruth's surprise, the passer-by came back a few minutes later. He told her he found a "smiley face" on the street, too.
Today Ruth has over 2000"smiley face" pictures on her website. Some were taken by her, but most were taken by the people from all over the world. Because Ruth's pictures are so popular, she published( 出版)a book and recently held (举办) her first art show.
